This is me--What are you?

I frogged the sock I started for my sister. It seemed to be too big, I was a little bored with it (just stockinette) and I'm too much of a perfectionist. I bought some smaller dpn's and I found a pattern here that is very simple but not uninteresting. I'm not following all the instructions, I'm just using the stitch design. But I'm trying it out on some sock yarn I had in my stash (okay, it's the only other sock yarn I own besides my sister's). I guess I'm just selfish--me first! I have high hopes, but I have yet to actually FINISH a sock...

Busy Busy...

My sister came down to visit this weekend. We watched some movies (read: knitting time!). I had a fun time, and I hope she did too.

I got a lot done on my sweater, see?

We also browsed at the LYS and got some Koigu KPPM sock yarn. I told my sister I'd make her some socks for her birthday. I'm slightly jealous--what a yummy color!

Currently...

My current work-in-progress: a top-down raglan sweater of my own design. It's pretty simple, just stockinette with a cable down the middle, but I've never done cables before, and I've never designed my own sweater. It's elsebeth lavold silky wool in color #8.

And she's off!

I never, EVER thought I'd have a blog. Acutally, I never thought ABOUT having a blog in the first place. But I decided to give it a whirl, anyway.

My name is Melly. I like to knit, among a LOT of other things, and I've been inspired by a lot of other people out there who share what they're doing. I hope that maybe someone will be interested in what I'm doing, too. And if not, well, I can always be my own biggest fan! Yay--go Melly!
